Heavy Pencil at the ICA

The Institute of Contemporary Arts in London is starting a new monthly event called Heavy Pencil. They are starting off with Ian Stevenson and Bob London. They will be drawing and playing some of their favorite tunes.

Heavy Pencil starts next Thursday, October 2nd at the ICA in the heart of central London. If you are there, or plan on visiting London don’t miss out.

Pixel Cross Stitch

I was browsing around Flickr today searching for some pixel art inspiration for a new tattoo idea and ran across a beauty inspired by Craig Robinson’s minipop drawings on flipflopflyin.com. We were lucky enough to interview Craig or Fill/Stroke last summer.

This adaptation was made by Ruby Khan.

It contains 45 different figures; 99 individual people and one happy little tree accompanying Bob Ross.

Stereolab

The 19th is almost here and so is Stereolab’s new album Chemical Chords, their first LP since 2004.

Part of the joy at the heart of any new Stereolab album is unraveling the many vagaries contained within the music. Their records are pleasant at first, but labyrinthine upon inspection.
