I tried buying some instant Polaroid film yesterday, and was surprised to find out by the Ritz Camera clerk that Polaroid instant film is discontinued.
This may be old news to plenty of people seeing that its been months since the Polaroid Corporation announced that it will discontinue production of all instant film. However, it’s still a painful loss.
Something needs to be done about this. I know, it’s 2008, times have changed, and digital cameras have pretty much taken over. But this announcement needs to be taken back and instant Polaroid film should not become another extinct medium. There is a quality in instant Polaroid film that you cannot acquire any other way.
Perhaps the people at Adobe have plans to make a new Photoshop filter to solve the problem. Until that day comes, I propose we support www.savepolaroid.com and take matters into our own hands.

I heard that Fuji Film is going to keep making their version of the Polaroid 600 film. So it won’t be Polaroid brand, but it will be the same format and should work in the cameras. However, I’ve
1. Never seen it and
2. Don’t know if that’s still true.
I sure do hope so though. :[
