RadioShack announces plans to directly copy Apple

Forbes announced yesterday that RadioShack may soon test new concept stores designed specifically to emulate Apple retailers. Because we all know there’s nothing more innovative than directly copying your competitor.
“Our source indicates that (RadioShack) is building three test stores to open by October, and then will hope to have ten by year end, 150 in the next 12 months and 400 in three years, if successful,” Baker told investors in a research note Friday. “We do not know if a name for the new format has been chosen, but we believe it will not invoke the RadioShack brand.”
Speculation is this news caused RadioShack shares to climb 9 cents almost immediately. Check back next week for a sneak peak at a concept site we’re testing to emulate Sports Illustrated.

Why would we try and emulate sports illustrated when we have nothing in common with them, no real content or products that would relate, and we’d clearly just be trying to emulate something because its selling better than we possibly could in the same market?
oooh, I see what you did there…clever.

They could call themselves Apple Shack, and force all the employees to wear overalls, have bad teeth, and carry pitchforks…maybe that’s mean, but it’s just the picture that the name Apple Shack provides in my head.

You know Radio Shack, the reason you are doing so badly is because the only worthwhile merchandise you have is fucking remote control cars and even those suck. Literally you are the junkyard of electronics.
Maybe you should figure out what the fuck you’re selling and then develop your brand around that. But I mean it I guess it is easier to copy someone else’s brand strategy. Whoever is the head of their marketing department needs to be fired. NOW.
On a side note, well done with the image. Literally what Radioshack is. I wish they would die already and go to the graveyard where all the dotcom failures went: oblivion.
